Its truly been a blessing! We’re still somewhat on a high from our opening weekend so today I want share some of the fun moments captured from our Soiree! Thanks again to everyone that helped to celebrate!

Special thanks to our event planner, Event Shoppe, and our personal chef Gerald Scott!

PSB Vintage Storefront......Coming Soon!

We've been away for so long, so many life events have occurred since our last blog post, I've had a vintage-inspired wedding celebrating the nuptials between my college sweetie and I, shortly afterwards we welcomed a beautiful magical baby boy into the world making our family of 3 into 4, I've also most recently had a slight career change from visual merchandising into a career in personal styling. Which included me even launching a styling firm, Style and Grace Wardrobe Consulting. However, despite all these amazing life changes, my heart and mind never steered too far from Pearled Shoebox......

Therefore it gives me so much pleasure to share the news that I have been blessed with the opportunity to open a storefront in Oak Park's Art District at 140 Harrison! WE FINALLY HAVE A HOME TO CALL OUR OWN!! Its been one long journey getting here, one that I prayed over, cried over and spent countless hours tending to and I am so grateful to begin this new journey. Soft opening dates to come....in the meantime I will be blogging about all the progress we make while opening this dream store of mine.

To all my Pearled Shoebox customers and supporters thank you for being on this journey with me....we still have so many good times ahead and beautiful vintage fashions to come!

Its truly a beautiful  surreal feeling when you watch your dreams manifest before your eyes! I've been working towards this for 8 years and have been talking about it for even longer. Such a sweet moment

Sequins, Golds & New Year Wishes

I've been away for a bit but I'm back to close out the year on the blog with a snippet of the vintage goodness that's in our shoppe to come in 2017!

But before I do I'll like to reflect on the past 12 months and I can truly say this year has been good to me. From saying yes to my college sweetie's proposal to moving into our own lil love nest in my beloved Hyde Park neighborhood in Chicago to launching this here blog. 2016has truly been short of amazing. Of course I've had some rough patches within business and personally but all in all I'm grateful to say that I progressed further than where I was last NYE. And that is truly my only wish for myself...... and for you. Continual progression from year to year! Gosh I'm so pumped for 2017!!

So to celebrate new beginnings and fresh starts, I'm highlighting some of Pearled Shoebox's festive vintage goodies that's also transitional from season to season; an 80s black sequins top that I scoured while in London.... a 70s gold silk pleated aline skirt that was found this year while vacaying in New Orleans.....and last but not least my fave from this ensemble, an 80s gold and black sequin cross body. Doesn't it just scream Gatsby....speaking of Gatsby I hope you all party like him tonite while ringing in 2017!

I only lasted 2 mins out in that Chicago cold before I had to put my faux fur on lol ...I scoured her from Forever XX1 a year or so back. Simply love pairing our vintage gems with modern peices!

Fall Style Inspiration 2016

September has come, the kiddies are off to school and even though here in Chicago we're still having 90 degree days (yippeeee)....Fall is unfortunately on the horizon (booo). I'll admit that even though I'm a fall baby (b. October 25th) I am still a hardcore Summer lover whose feelings are crushed that summer has come to an end so soon😫 *silent tears..so keep the pumpkin spice lattes and nutmeg scents far away from me for a few weeks until I fully adjust to the changing of seasons lol.

Until then I figured I'll turn to fashion, thee fashions of the past of course, to lift my spirits and to also give me some style ideas. With Fall being the season of seasons for the industry, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. And disappointed was I not. As you'll see this post is over 20 photos long lol.

Fall fashions, sweet fall fashions you have a way of uplifting a girl's spirits! 😌 After finding these fabulous photos I'll have to say I'm a tad bit more ready for the fall ....a tad bit lol.

Pussy bow collars, wool hats, dress coats, plaid prints, fur stoles and leather gloves are the top 6 style elements that are inspiring both my wardrobe and the shoppe's inventory this fall season.

What about you all? What style elements are inspiring your style for this fall season?
